Antique Qing Style Chinese Barber Stool/Bench – Pair
A pair of 19th Century barber stool/benches from Shanxi province, China. Each stool has 2 small drawers in the front and 2 small drawers on the side. The seat has a hole in the middle of the top which is where money was collected. They were designed to be carried from place to place for roadside haircuts.
They are in a very good original condition, beautiful color & patina adds depth and excellent original brass fittings. A fantastic example of vernacular furniture of the Qing dynasty, this antique vendor’s stool adds storied history and rich texture to any interior.
