The top of this stool was woven with incredible care by a skilled artisan who used thin strips of hide to create multiple patterns in the seat, including stars. The hand-hewn stool with exposed joinery was made in northern China over 150 years ago out of elmwood, and time has only added to its character. Wear patterns and use marks darken the wood with earned depth and texture.
