This early 19th century Chinese inset leg wine table is characterized by the lightness of its proportions, its finely executed detailing and the lustrous wear of its original lacquer. The auspicious carved hanging ruyi cloud heads at the tops of its legs convey blessings of good fortune. The Asian center table is masterfully joined together with mortise and Tenon construction, without nails or screws.
