A Chinese Qing Dynasty period table from the 19th century with reddish orange lacquer, three drawers, carved spandrels and brass hardware. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this lacquered table could be used as a console or a desk. It features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above three drawers, all fitted with brass ring pulls on diamond shaped backplates. The drawers’ dovetail construction reveals the piece’s age. The ensemble is raised on four legs with reeded accentuation typical of the Chinese construction, connected to the drawers thanks to carved spandrels. The sides are made of recessed panels and simple stretchers. The back echoes this décor with the addition of carved spandrels. The legs are slightly uneven in their degree of splaying, as documented on the photos. With its clean lines and reddish orange lacquer, this Chinese Qing Dynasty period table from the 19th century will make for a great addition to any home, placed in a living room, study or bedroom.
