This Bolection marble fireplace is another Queen Anne design where the focus is on luxuriant curves, rather than just the linear. A robust example of a bolection, a moulding popularised by Sir Christopher Wren following his tours of Italy, and seen in his work for King William III”s private rooms throughout Hampton Court Palace.
