Refined walnut Lowboy with elegant scalloped apron from the Queen Anne period, about 1740. The molded edge top is quarter veneered with gross banding and with four notched corners. The three drawer fronts also have gross banding veneer and retain the original pierced brass pulls. The Lowboy is elevated on four carved cabriole legs with shell carvings and claw and ball feet. The relief carved shell decoration was created and became popular during the Queen Anne period. The Lowboy is also veneered in walnut on the back side. This beautiful furniture is extremely well built and it is in good antique Condition. Minimal imperfections and a few minor cracks are to be expected.
