A rare high end 1850s solid camphor wood campaign trunk that was often utilized in the English Navy. Camphor wood was used at the time since it was resistant to wood worms. Older restoration. Beautiful wood grain with brass corners and brass end handles. Original shield lock escutcheon and has no key. A stout lid dressed with an inset brass ring pull with an unmarked plaque on the top. Pair of brass drop handles on the ends. Has a replaced lid chain. Could be up purposed as a remarkable storage cabinet.
