Double Tube Light in Tan from the GDR (DDR), hanging A rugged hanging Tube Lamp from the 1950s/1960s from the DDR/GDR. This is Upcycling at it’s best! In the rough work environment (fragile) fluorescent tubes have to survive and hence they designed these dust-free, explosion-proof and splash-proof industrial lights. After an explosion or accident in the factory hall, coal mine and/or laboratory the fluorescent tubes had to remain lit, that increased the survival chances of the employees/workers. with cast aluminum ends and parallel sturdy glass tubes, these are practically indestructible, and have a tough rugged style that you won’t find anywhere else. We clean them and convert them for consumer light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, etc.. The bulbs are replace by unscrewing the end-caps which have a safety cable so they won’t fall to the floor. chain available separately industrial ceiling pendant lamp dimensions: 36 D x 150 W x 20 H cm tube diameter: 6 cm
