19th century Chinese Stool. This is an antique Barber stool. Natural wood stool of Elm wood & Poplar. The stool has one small drawer in the front, and two larger drawers on the side. The seat has a hole in the middle of the top which is where money was collected. The drawers used to hold accessories. A primitive stool usually carried by the Barber through the neighborhood and placed in an area the Barber would set up for a while and do hair cuts. This was used in places where groups of people worked and could get quick hair cuts. Original Rustic patina, in very good condition. The seat is very strong and sturdy having a platform of 19 inches long and 4.5 inches deep.
Can be used for seating or display, makes a great fireside stool. Rustic patina, natural, in very good condition. The depth of the top seat is 4.5 inches and 19 inches long. Was used as a barber stool for providing haircuts. Client would sit on this stool while the village barber would provide his service of cutting hair.
