American Queen Anne maple highboy in two parts with cabriole legs, pad feet, fan carved central drawer and shaped skirt. This New England highboy is a classic with a flat top, molded cornice, elegant slender legs and edge molded drawers. The fan carving in the center drawer of the base section and the slim cabriole legs mark this as coming from a cabinet maker with special skills. The relatively small size of this highboy makes it quite easy to use in a bedroom, living room, or great room, as it adds height without heaviness and a simple elegance and quality that is so often needed. Refinished at some time in its life, brass old replacements. Circa 1770-80 The sizes indicated are at the cornice and legs. The highboy is 35 1/2″ wide at the waist and 16 1/2″ deep in the body.
