English Queen Anne cherry lowboy, this early 18th century piece has a molded edge top with nicely shaped pinched corners. The single long drawer over three smaller drawers have reticulated brass pulls and escutcheon, all with overlapping and molded edges. Below is a beautifully shaped apron ( note the sides have shaped lower edges as well) . The cabriole legs terminate with pad feet. Antique cherry furniture was very susceptible to worm infestation, and in the case of this piece, has long ago been treated and is not of concern . This is quite common on period cherry pieces and is not considered a fault, in our opinion( see photos of the top). Mahogany lowboys of this age from England are plentiful but cherry pieces are very rare.
