Mid 19th Century Antique Chinese Painted Red Lacquer Wedding Chest Sideboard

Typical northern Chinese country style, from Gansu Province or Inner Mongolia, rectangular form with recessed legs and carved corner spandrels, two drawers above three storage compartments each containing a removable shelf, detachable door panels, the top and the front finely decorated in colorful lacquers with hand-painted flower-and-bird motifs including peony, plum-blossom, lotus and magpie, all on red lacquer ground, the sides and the rear covered with clear wood finish, sturdy and well-balanced structure overall, a joyful and festive wedding chest made with solid wood during the mid 19th century, Qing Dynasty
In overall good used but well maintained condition with rich characters of age and use including overall wear and scruffs to the surface and edges, minor joint gaps, missing lacquer, early inpainting and repairs, and other minor imperfections
