Mid-Century Beech Wood and Fabric Armchairs from Malatesta E Mason, 1950, Set of 2

Icon of the Malatesta and Mason company, these armchairs are a project that has characterized and influenced all the seats of the last century. Amazing design and amazing comfort.

The armchairs have a beech wood structure, skilfully shaped and joined; structure that forms both the legs and the armrest of the armchair. Between the two beech wood structures there is a seat and a backrest with a unique and continuous shape. The wooden part was well restored, and the part of the seat and backrest reupholstered; the choice of upholstery is very nice, which goes very well with both the design and the color of the wood. Fabric that includes a lighter part and a geometric part in raised velvet.

La Malatesta e Mason is a family-run business. The company had 300 employees including carpenters, upholsterers, painters, sculptors, ceramists, gender technicians. His way of designing is characterized by a constant search for new materials and new construction techniques. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
