A pair of antique Chinese side chairs circa 19th century, late Qing Dynasty. Made from highly grained Hong Mu, a hard wood that resembles the Chinese rosewood, Huanghuali. These chairs feature a craved back support with longevity symbols such as bats, fungi and melons and a square form with stretches. Solid and quite heavy.
The heavy patina is attractive and make the chair present with a historical flair.
