An extraordinarily rare English Queen Ann Walnut metamorphic chest of drawers with pull out writing desk made in the early 18th century. This remarkable George I period queen Ann chest has full dust slides under the four drawers that still retain their original pierced brass handles and escutcheons. The unusual Georgian writing chest of drawers has a metamorphic desk that pulls out with the top drawer that is supported by the corner pilaster with original casters below each leg. The writing desk drawer is compartmentalized under the green baize writing slide. The corner pilaster flank the four walnut drawers. The queen Ann walnut metamorphic chest of drawers has a one board walnut top with thumb nail molding. This queen Ann chest of drawers sets on a quarter round thumb nail molding with original bracket feet. The metamorphic chest of drawers has its original oak backboards.
