Vintage Solid Bronze Okimono Figurine

Japanese Okimono bronze figurine “Selflessness Child” from Gumps. Okimono is a Japanese ornamental form, often in the form of a human figure. The artist is Kome Jiichi (1896-1985), a Japanese bronze sculptor who was a student of the famous Takamura Koun in Tokyo. The figure is signed by the artist and in very good condition. The motif of “Selflessness Child” originally appeared in a famous painting by Yokoyama Taikan titled “Muga.”
